Data Allowance Policy

  1. Overview

Smartlink Technology is committed to delivering reliable, high-speed internet service to our customers. To ensure fair and consistent access for all users, this Data Allowance Policy outlines how data usage is managed on our network.

  1. Data Allowance & Fair Usage

Smartlink offers both unlimited and metered data plans, depending on your service package:

  • Unlimited Plans: No hard data cap; however, speeds may be adjusted during times of high network congestion for heavy users to maintain network performance for all customers.
  • Metered Plans: Customers with specific data limits will be notified when approaching their allowance and given the option to purchase additional data or manage usage.
  1. Network Management & Speed Adjustments

To ensure a high-quality experience for all customers, Smartlink may use network management practices such as:

  • Prioritizing time-sensitive traffic (e.g., video calls, VoIP) over large downloads during peak hours.
  • Reducing speeds temporarily for users who exceed high usage thresholds in a given billing cycle.
  • Notifying customers before any speed adjustments occur.
  1. Monitoring Your Usage

Customers can track their data usage through:

  • The Smartlink Customer Portal (smartlinkinternet.com)
  • Email/SMS notifications for metered plans when nearing data limits
  1. Excessive Use & Abuse Policy
  • Smartlink’s services are intended for residential and business use as outlined in your service agreement.
  • Excessive bandwidth consumption (e.g., continuous large file transfers, server hosting, or unauthorized reselling of services) may result in a review of your account and potential speed adjustments or policy enforcement.
  1. Options for Additional Data
  • Customers on metered plans can purchase additional data at [$X per GB] or [$XX for an extra 100GB package].
  • Upgrading to a higher-tier plan with increased or unlimited data is also an option.
  1. Policy Enforcement

Smartlink reserves the right to:

  • Implement fair use policies to prevent network congestion and abuse.
  • Modify service plans as necessary, with notice to customers.
  • Take action, including limiting speeds or suspending service, for violations of this policy.
